Island Leisure Resort is located on beautiful Magnetic Island which is just offshore from Townsville in the central section of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Island Leisure Resort is a 4 star AAA Tourism rated Unit Property, and can confidently claim to be Magnetic Island's premier family holiday resort. We have only 17 bure style units so you never get that crowded feeling, and there is always plenty of room at the pool and always booking times available for tennis.

Our spacious South Pacific bure style units are perfectly designed for the relaxed family holiday, with most units having a queen size bed and triple bunks thus easily accommodating a family of five. All units are self-contained, have air conditioning, ceiling fans, and have semi-private patios for those balmy tropical nights.

Our units are set in lush tropical gardens, and there is an array of wild-life including beautiful birds, curlews and possums, which gives you the feeling of tranquility and nature at peace.

  1. From Townsville, you need to leave from the breakwater ferry terminal and board a sunferries fast cat for the 25 minute ride to Nelly Bay terminal on Magnetic Island. You can catch a short bus or taxi to the property or for the energetic, a walk off about 800 meters.
